STONE CADAVER is a three-piece stoner metal band hailing from the cold wastes of Aarhus, Denmark. Formed in 2014 by a bunch of guys with a lust for kicking ass, STONE CADAVER is a witches’ brew of old school proto-metal guitars, distorted bass and fat organic drums that will leave you thirsty for more.
Picture three guys in denim vests fusing the likes of Pentagram, Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard in their heavy riffing and you have a pretty good idea of what STONE CADAVER is all about
SHORT BIO
STONE CADAVER was formed in 2014 in Denmark by Anders Bech Nielsen (guitar and vocals), Jesper Hauptmann (drums) and Andreas Cadaver (bass). This line-up recorded and EP and the band’s first full length album, Reject Remove Replace, in 2017. Jesper left the band soon after to pursue interests outside of music.
In 2018, drummer Stevie Dalla-Zuanna joined and in 2020, the band recorded their second album, Memento Mori, Motherfucker. A heavier, doomier and more progressive effort, MMM was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by legendary Danish producer Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, Sick Of It All, The Haunted etc.).
In 2021, Stevie left the band and was replaced by Karsten “Cuckoo” Gøeg in early 2022.
In 2023, Andreas left the band to focus on Dread Witch.
LIVE
STONE CADAVER’s live performances are characterized by noise, headbanging and Jutsk dialect. Live, the band strives to create a sonic context that enables the listener to dissolve into time and space and experience the music in its pure, kaleidoscopic glory. The band achieves this by interweaving fast and slow passages, often within the same song, a characteristic that keeps the listener’s brain in a state of perpetual sensorial undulation. Combined with the band’s unusually good looks, STONE CADAVER’s display of musical prowess onstage is a quite singular affair. Or, that’s the idea, anyway …
STONE CADAVER has played numerous shows and festivals all over Denmark such as Royal Metal Fest, Children Of The Sun, Gutter Island and Fuzztival sharing the bill with Dead Witches (UK), Yuri Gagarin (SE), Jex Thoth (US), Saint Karloff (SE), BAEST (DK) and Bersærk (DK) to name but a few.
